Kyleigh Lydon is a 6 year old little girl who was diagnosed with Galactosemia as an infant. Her parents are two local police officers in their community. They have dedicated their lives to finding a cure for galactosemia. Galactosemia is too much galactose in the blood. This accumulation of galactose is poison to the body and causes serious complications such as; Liver Failure, Kidney Failure, and BrainDamage. There is currently no cure or treatment for Galactosemia. Because this disease is so rare, there is minimal funding for research.
